Our House's new marketplace: championing local artists and communities
As a creative hoping to make a living in the arts, it's hard to get a foot in the door, especially for those from underrepresented communities; that’s why with House of Hackney’s first marketplace, The Market Garden, we hope to nurture upcoming artists - to help them grow, create and inspire.
The first year is themed around The Year of The Garden.
We invite artists and makers to send submissions based on the flower as icon.
We want to give our platforms to fellow ‘gardeners’; people who plant seeds and inspire change through their creativity and purpose-led work, with the aim to leave the world a better place.
With 2 annual drops, works will be sold on houseofhackney.com and exhibited throughout our spaces.
From makers, painters and ceramicists to glass blowers and weavers, ours is a garden of inclusivity.
How to Apply
If you are interested in becoming a part of The Market Garden please send a short bio with your name and specialism in the subject line, along with 3 photos of your work (in JPEG or PNG format, max. 3MB) and any relevant links to:
