CERTIFIED B CORPORATION

Certified B Corporations meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Becoming a B Corp reflects our belief that business should be a force for good, balancing profit with purpose.

Our work is underpinned by the B Lab assessment, the basis of our B Corp certification which looks at a business across five categories: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. We first became certified in 2020, with a score 84.8 out of 200.

We re-certified in January 2025 with a score of 109 points, a significant improvement which is a reflection of the commitment and dedication of our team and suppliers.

THE KING'S AWARD

In 2026, we received the King's Award for Enterprise, for Sustainability. This spotlights businesses making an exceptional contribution to society through sustainable and forward-thinking practices. As one of the UK’s most prestigious business honours, it recognises the transformative role business can play in creating positive change.

In 2022, House of Hackney also received a Queen's Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

THE 4 DAY WEEK FOUNDATION

As an independent, founder-led company, we operate in a busy environment, so wellbeing is at the heart of our culture. Our four-day working week supports greater balance, wellbeing, engagement and connection, while helping to reduce our environmental impact. We are a 4 Day Week Foundation accredited business.

Nature Fridays is our four-day working week initiative to increase the amount of time available for our team to spend with Nature. Its aim is to deepen Nature connection and enhance wellbeing, creativity, productivity, social connection and more.

LIVING WAGE EMPLOYER

For all employees, it is important that pay reflects at least the cost of living in the country where they work. We support the campaign for real living wages and are a UK Living Wage Foundation accredited employer.

FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL (FSC)

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a globally recognised certification promoting responsible forestry and ethical sourcing practices. Choosing FSC-certified materials supports forest conservation and safeguards the people and wildlife who depend upon them.

All our wallpaper is FSC-certified. 10% of our overall fabric production contains wood fibres including viscose, rayon and modal. Of that, 68% of those fabrics containing wood fibre are FSC-certified, recycled, or both. To date, 75% of our packaging products are also FSC-certified, recycled, or both

WOOLKEEPERS

Our Woolkeepers® partnership connects us to a network of British farms championing traceability, regenerative agriculture and responsible wool production.

Our wool supply comes from their network of fifty UK farms, who uphold social and environmental assurances about how flocks are cared for, the land they are reared on and farmer livelihoods. Our cushion filling is made from Woolkpeers® British wool fibre, 25% of which is regeneratively grown. Each product QR code gives information about the farms and farmers who grow our wool fibre.
