While its Art Nouveau motif, BLACKTHORN, part of our collaboration with the William Morris Gallery, dates back to 1892, this design is woven from sumptuous British wool by Axminster Carpets, creators of the world's finest floor coverings since 1755. Yet despite all this (and the fact it's made to last for decades to come), this piece is thoroughly modern, thanks to its statement shade of 'Petrol' and subtle gothic undertones (note the skull lurking amongst the symmetrical blooms).
Each item sold enables House of Hackney to purchase and protect 35 square metres of forest, thanks to our partnership with the World Land Trust the international conservation charity that safeguards our most vital natural ecosystems and threatened habitats, acre by acre.

There are up to four different sizes to choose from in this collection: the luxurious 1.83m x 1.22m is ideal for the bedroom or for laying down beside the fireplace, while the extravagant 2.44m x 1.83m is designed with living rooms in mind. The grander 3.05m x 2.44m is perfect for open plan spaces, whereas the palatial 4.88m x 3.66m is made for impressive living or dining rooms, ballrooms and other such dimensionally blessed environs.
