Woven at the Royal Warrant holding Axminster Carpet factory in England, each piece is meticulously crafted by the country’s finest weavers, just as it has been since 1755. Here heritage is not preserved, but something to be loved and lived in the everyday.

Born from a shared reverence for British craftsmanship and the decorative arts, the House of Hackney and Axminster Carpets collection rooted in beauty, artistry and the enduring value of things made well.
Axminster Carpets began in 1755 with a simple act of curiosity. When Devonshire cloth-weaver Thomas Whitty saw a Turkish carpet and wondered how it was made, it sparked a bigger dream; one that saw his small British mill creating art you could walk on, that would be welcomed into every home and admired the world over. Nearly three centuries later, that same spirit inspired us. Together we've created a collection that celebrates British craftsmanship, curiosity and tradition for how we live now.

Nature has always been more than a design muse for us, and this collection extends that philosophy beneath our feet, inviting the floor to become a living landscape that reconnects us with colour, craft and the restorative beauty of the natural world.
In a rainbow of verdant greens, earthy pinks, pigmented brights and neutrals, each carpet, rug and runner is woven to order on a single loom from 100% wool, using Axminster’s unique ‘eight pitch’ weave, creating flooring with greater detail, definition and saturation than ever before.

Inside the Axminster factory in Devon, where our carpets are created, centuries of knowledge are woven into every piece by the hands of the people making it today.
Behind every carpet is a community of dyers, designers, weavers, engineers and finishers, whose skills have been passed from one generation to the next.
Woven on a single loom with over 40 colours from Nature’s palette, the craftspeople use Thomas Whitty’s unique ‘eight pitch’ weave to build intricate patterns row by row, creating carpets of greater detail, definition and saturation than ever before.
In an age increasingly shaped by mass production, this collection celebrates the enduring value of human craftsmanship and care.
