Join Our House
Our Housemates are innovators who see the world differently and strive to make a difference within it. Each one is chosen and cherished for the skills, talents and characteristics that make them unique.
In our House, we care for the wellbeing of our team; that is why we offer a more flexible approach to working, allowing us to spend more time with Nature on Fridays.
As well as caring for our colleagues, we also care deeply about our eternal muse - Mother Nature. House of Hackney is proud to be certified as a B Corp™ and part of a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact. With an independent representative for Nature & Future Generations sitting on our Board of Directors, we partner with many leading organisations - from World Land Trust to Living Wage Foundation, Woolkeepers and more - to reduce our impacts on Nature (including human wellbeing).
From our London flagship St Michael’s Clergy, based in the creative heart of the capital, to our New York showroom, our House is a place where imagination and collaboration can flourish – where everyone is accepted, all ideas are encouraged, and magic really does happen.

Our Purpose
House of Hackney is a restoration project rooted in Nature, Craft, Community and Awe! Inspired by Nature's living systems, we use creativity and business as catalysts to regenerate our common home. We are deeply committed to shifting from a B Corp sustainable business to a truly regenerative one, giving back more than we take.
WONDER GARDEN is our new apothecary collection: a bi-annual range of sensory, seasonal products rooted in 3.7 billion years of living systems. Developed over three years with certified herbalist Harriet Coleman and inspired by our Mother Garden at Trematon Castle in Cornwall, WONDER GARDEN reconnects people with the intelligence of Nature through everyday ritual- supporting well-being through relationship, not remedy.
The Role
As our WONDER GARDEN Apothecary Host, you will be the living embodiment of the collection in our Shoreditch showroom: welcoming visitors, guiding them through the WONDER GARDEN world, and creating meaningful, sensory experiences that bring the collection to life. This is not a traditional retail role; you are a host, a storyteller and a ritual-keeper, someone who understands that a cup of tea made well, offered at the right moment, can be as powerful as any product description.
You will also support the wider showroom team with sales and administrative tasks specifically related to the WONDER GARDEN collection.
Key Responsibilities
Wonder Garden hosting & experience
- Welcome showroom visitors and introduce them to the WONDER GARDEN collection with warmth, knowledge and genuine enthusiasm
- Prepare and serve teas from the WONDER GARDEN range as part of the showroom experience, understanding the properties and intention of each blend
- Guide visitors through the ritual arc of the collection: candle, tea, tincture, soap and facial oil - explaining the seasonal philosophy and the herbalism principles behind each product
- Create and maintain the sensory, considered WONDER GARDEN space within the showroom, keeping it beautifully presented and immersive at all times
- Support and host any WONDER GARDEN in-showroom events or activations.
Product storytelling & sales
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Wonder Garden collection through training provided by the team; including the biodynamic herbalism principles, the Trematon Castle origin story, and the seasonal philosophy
- Communicate confidently and authentically about the ingredients, properties and rituals of each product to both trade and retail visitors
- Act as a knowledgeable first point of contact for all Wonder Garden product enquiries and sales
- Support the wider sales team with administrative and organisational tasks including sales related to the WONDER GARDEN collection
- Follow House of Hackney brand guidelines at all times, including wearing the HOH uniform.
What we're looking for
We will train you fully on the Wonder Garden collection, its herbalism principles and its products - so you don't need to arrive as an expert. What matters most is genuine curiosity, a love of nature, and the warmth to make every visitor feel at home.
Essential
- A genuine interest in herbalism, plant medicine, seasonal living or natural wellness
- Confidence and care in preparing and serving tea, you find meaning in doing this well
- Warmth, curiosity and an instinct for genuine hospitality
- A strong social and environmental mindset, aligned with our regenerative mission
- Clear, confident communication with a wide range of people
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of organisation.
Desirable
- Some background in herbalism, aromatherapy, holistic wellness or related practice
- Experience in a hosting, front-of-house, retail or experiential role
- Familiarity with Shopify and other POS systems
- Knowledge of or passion for House of Hackney as a brand.
Benefits
- 30% discount across all House of Hackney products
- Full Wonder Garden product training provided
- The chance to be part of a meaningful, mission-led brand at a genuinely exciting moment in its story.
