Welcome to the Garden, our new marketplace bringing together a collective of craftspeople
inspired by a joint muse; Mother Nature.

From handcrafted ceramics and original artworks to decor accessories and textiles, each maker and their work have been carefully curated to bring the beauty of Nature into the home.

“We want to champion the skills these amazing craftspeople practice, and use our platform to support emerging artists. We called it ‘The Market Garden’ not only because the products are inspired by the garden and its ever-changing palette, but because we all have the common interest of protecting and working more in harmony with the natural world.” Javvy M Royle, Co-founder House of Hackney

Drops of The Market Garden will be curated into ‘rooms’. The first collection will be pieces designed to bring Nature into the ‘Living Room’ and ‘Garden Room’.

Georgia Beaumont

Georgia Beaumont is an artist based in England. Weaving her magic with paint, Georgia’s work explores the intuitive female spirit; the joyful colour, perceptive brushstrokes and dancing botanical forms, a celebration of life itself.

“Nature, its blooms, petals and leaves are a rich reference point for me, not only for their compositional variety but also for their capacity to move us. It is a place where we can get lost, forget, take comfort and feel inspired. As human beings we are inextricably tethered to it.”

Freya Bramble-Carter

Freya Bramble-Carter is a ceramics artist based in London, creating work with a strong connection to the natural world, making pieces with soul that inspire and become a source of energy in the home.

“It fascinates me how we can transform energy from one form to another. Clay allows us to stretch it, add to it, carve it, water it, dry it, heat it, cook it, melt it, observe it, learn and grow from it. Mastering real time magic.”

Alice Gabb

Alice Gabb is a Lettering Artist, Banner Maker and activist based in Hackney, East London. The banners she creates are inspired by early secret societies, peace campaigning and social justice movements within the UK.

"Connection to Nature reminds me to stay steady and careful with my activism, which is hard when it requires such urgency. I work with printed florals and soft velvets, taking up space with an unapologetically feminine aesthetic.”

Colours of Arley

Colours of Arley is a British textile company, founded by Louisa Tratalos in her quest to help people find the perfect stripe.

“Our fabric is made using recycled bottles diverted from landfill and supporting the environment is key to our business. Our goal with the bespoke stripes is to give people the opportunity to invest in pieces for their home that they can keep forever.”

Poppy and Honesty

With whimsy and a nostalgic charm, Poppy and Honesty create fun and functional textiles for the home, handmade in the south of England, to be treasured for years to come.

“My design philosophy is ‘fun and functional’. I don’t believe in taking interiors too seriously and our products are designed to bring your cheer as well as last a lifetime.”

Studio Sparks

Rosie Sparks of Studio Sparks creates mindfully manufactured cushions, handcrafted with care. Classic yet contemporary, romantic ruffles are the star of the show.

“Print, colour and pattern are really big inspirations for me. They’re just a must-have, they make me personally really happy so it fits that everything I create and put out there is colourful as well.”

Victoria Savka

Victoria Savka is a New York based artist who creates storytelling pieces inspired by American Folk Art, whimsical Staffordshire pottery and ethereal fables.

“My work seeks to highlight the silliest and sweetest moments Nature shares with us. In the rush of daily life we can find ourselves so far removed from the beauty and quietude of nature that these small daily reminders pull us back to our roots.”

Ken Spooner

Inspired by legend, symbolism and music, Cornwall based artist Ken Spooner weaves magic and storytelling through his work, each piece a part of his own mythology.

"Your art is the fullest expression of your life’.”

Ephraim Pottery

Ephraim Pottery is a ceramic studio based in rural Wisconsin. They create traditional American hand-thrown and sculpted art pottery finished with their in-house specialist glazes.

“We celebrate the hand of the maker in everything we do,and intentionally lean away from technologies that remove the artists’ hands from our work. Each piece is hand-thrown and sculpted, and finished with Ephraim Pottery in-house-designed glazes.”

ODD

Affectionately known as Old Rockers, ODD’s idyllic garden swing seats are made in England, and designed to last a lifetime.

“We are ODD because we like our products to be made in England to a quality that our children's children will enjoy. Having things mass produced in distant parts of the world, with quality compromised in order to maximise profit margins, is just not for us.”

Seeds Co-Operative

The Seed Co-operative is a Community Benefit Society who produce open-pollinated, organic seeds to promote diversity, democracy and a closer relationship with our ecosystem.

“We want you to know where your seed comes from; who grew it and where, and even who bred each variety.”

The Year of the Garden

The Market Garden is a part of The Year of the Garden; our love letter to the natural world.

Like the ebbs and flows of nature, The Year of the Garden will traverse the seasons, starting with the zenith of spring and ending in the cold embrace of winter. ‘The Garden’ will be made up of collections, collaborations, collectives and communities, inspiring change through creativity and honouring Mother Nature.
