Design Notes
The Amhurst is House of Hackneys take on the Knole sofa – a distinctive design dating back to 17th century England, when it began life as a double throne upon which the monarchy would have sat to receive guests. Complete with the Knoles famous hinged sides (tied to finials using fabric cords), this piece is cloaked in luxurious BAMBUSA-print velvet and hand-built in England by the countrys finest furniture makers – making it just as fit for a king today.
Each item sold enables House of Hackney to purchase and protect 35 square metres of forest, thanks to our partnership with the World Land Trust the international conservation charity that safeguards our most vital natural ecosystems and threatened habitats, acre by acre.
