Our signature snakes coil all the way up and around this decadent lamp set an elegant evocation of serpents as symbols of transformation. Handcrafted in Britain to a Victorian-style shape, the Tilia lampshade is draped in cut-velvet then finished with black fringing. Equalling its drama is the SERPENTIS overhang lampstand, designed with an adjustable top not to mention golden snakes carved by hand in as much unique, artisanal detail as the shade itself.
Each item sold enables House of Hackney to purchase and protect 35 square metres of forest, thanks to our partnership with the World Land Trust the international conservation charity that safeguards our most vital natural ecosystems and threatened habitats, acre by acre.
Two mythological paradises entwine on this lamp set: first, the isle of Avalon the inspiration behind the supernatural wildflowers blooming across the Isabella lampshade, a design handcrafted in Britain to an elaborate shape that recalls the Victorian era. Then, there's the SERPENTIS lampstand. Detailed by hand so that each piece is unique, this subversively beautiful design is enwrapped by golden snakes, evocative of the Garden of Eden.
This lampshade style can be made to order in a fabric of your choice. Please contact a member of the team for more information at customerservices@houseofhackney.com or call +44 (0) 207 739 3273.
