We rely on the support and guidance of many passionate experts to challenge extractive ways of working and champion new ideas and actions that benefit the many, not just the few. From forest protection, to regenerative agriculture and supporting a new generation of diverse talent, we are proud to work hands-on with leading global and local leaders in this space.

CANOPY
Canopy implements vital Ancient and Endangered Forest conservation policies and practices globally, with more than 500 brand partners and a network of material innovators.
With wood-fibre one of our most used materials, we want to do everything we can to limit our burden on these precious resources. Our commitment to Canopy’s work and all our key stakeholders and rightsholders is that no Ancient and Endangered forest fibres will be used in our products, packaging and paper supply chains by 2025.
Read our commitment to protecting forests through our product and packaging choices here.

WOOLKEEPERS
At House of Hackney, we’re always seeking out new ways to evolve our business that work more in harmony with Mother Nature. A big part of that is challenging the materials we use: are they the best available and can we do better?
We turned to our UK supply chain community and it led us to British wool at H.Dawson and an opportunity to support the first wool traceability programme in the UK, WoolkeepersⓇ.
Our wool supply comes from the WoolkeepersⓇ network of fifty UK farms, who uphold social and environmental assurances about how flocks are cared for, the land they are reared on and farmer livelihoods. Our cushion filling is made from WoolkpeersⓇ British wool fibre, 25% of which is regeneratively grown. Each product QR code gives information about the farms and farmers who grow our wool fibre.

WORLD LAND TRUST
House of Hackney has been a partner on World Land Trust’s landmark land purchase fundraising ‘Buy an Acre’ initiative since 2022. Thanks to our wonderful customers, 513 acres of threatened habitats and their wildlife have come under protection since the start of our partnership.
‘Buy an Acre’ projects are chosen in areas of maximum biodiversity, where overseas conservation partners can purchase land for an average of £100 an acre. World Land Trust is careful about its selection of projects and works closely with local non-governmental organisations to ensure that there can be no question of green colonialism.
Through a donation of 87 pence for every metre of fabric, roll of wallpaper and individual item sold, 35 square metres of threatened habitats can be purchased and protected by World Land Trust and their network of local partners.

INTOUNIVERSITY
The main focus of our diversity and inclusion work is to support the next generation of talent in the creative industries, making sure it is inclusive and representative of our community.
We are so proud to partner with IntoUniversity, a leading youth charity that provides local learning centres, supporting young people growing up in Britain’s least privileged neighbourhoods.
Through after-school study sessions, mentoring meetings and career inspiration programmes, IntoUniversity provides dedicated, longterm support that can help to break cycles of disadvantage.
We support IntoUniversity’s Hackney South and Hackney Downs Centres through donations and team volunteering with young people from primary school age upwards, ranging from mentoring those hoping to continue their education, afterschool homework support for primary and secondary school kids, careers insight days, work experience and more.
