Originally established as an interiors label, the brand has successfully grown to offer a full portfolio of homewares and fashion products, with an emphasis on quality, design and Made in England. House of Hackney operates a flagship store in Shoreditch and is stocked in 35 luxury department and concept stores worldwide. Junior Buyer
After a decade of bland minimalism, the brand captured the zeitgeist with its collections of British-made collection of prints and products that are steeped in tradition but are bold and subversive for a truly modern statement. Today, House of Hackney has evolved into a successful British-made brand incorporating interiors, fashion and lifestyle divisions. House of Hackney has achieved cult status amongst its loyal customer-base of tastemakers, celebrities and interior designers and has become the British brand to go to for its iconic printed collections. With an aesthetic influenced by English heritage, albeit with a thoroughly modern interpretation, it was paramount to the founder’s vision that British-made materials and manufacturing would be used, keeping production close to home and supporting small traditional industries and creating local employment.

THE ROLE

  • Manage key business suppliers to deliver company objectives - sales plan; margin, on time deliveries and quality.
  • Forward plans new seasons to deliver ranges on time in line with set company calendar, for both samples and bulk deliveries by individual product/SKU.
  • Manages and drives own departmental critical path.
  • Upholds the correct use of sales and stock management systems using Bright Pearl.
  • Closely reviews sales and trades department - highlights fast sellers and proposes actions; and slow sellers (if slow check future commitment and highlight proposed cancellation).
  • Is margin focused and strives to improve margin.
  • Works closely with press and social team to ensure new products are highlighted and pushed to drive exposure to lead to sales.
  • Keeps abreast of competitor activity and reports on initiative.
  • Researches and proposes new designs / updates to best sellers.
  • Communicates new season ranges to teams giving them the knowledge to promote / sell the collections.
  • Reviews team member’s performance and develops their skills to keep team members motivated with clear levels of progression and areas to improve.
  • Help develop sourcing and supply base to deliver the changing and growing needs of the business.
  • Suggests areas of improvement on product quality and price.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers to achieve best possible lead times, prices and payment terms.
  • Proposes quantities of product to book based on company stock targets and current stock levels.
  • Reviews and monitor supplier deliveries and measure their OTIF. Flag issues to senior management to suggest problem suppliers.
  • Visit and contact new suppliers to improve sourcing where needed.
  • Identifies interesting initiatives with strong potential ROIs for the brand.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 2 - 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation skills while upholding the brand values of fair pricing and business.

Merchandise Admin Assistant (MAA)

House of Hackney is seeking a MAA (Merchandise Admin Assistant) to work on building and maintaining all categories across sales channels, potentialising what sells in each. The candidate should have strong analytical skills and will work closely with the Production team to analyse sales, monitor individual line performance and focus on maximising sales through stock allocation and replenishment. As this job is numerical and analytical, these skills are necessary, and a good knowledge of Excel will also be required.

  • Building and maintaining stock across categories across channels.
  • Ensuring optimal stocks and allocations across all channels.

ECOMMERCE TRADING EXECUTIVE
House of Hackney is an exciting, fast growing luxury lifestyle brand who are looking for an ambitious, hardworking and digitally minded individual to join the web team. As the Ecommerce Trading Executive, you will report into the Head of Ecommerce and help drive the expansion and profitable growth of House of Hackney’s global digital business. The right person for this role will enjoy all things digital, be highly commercial and analytical and have high levels of accuracy, consistency and strong attention to detail. A proactive and positive attitude and excellent communication skills are essential in this busy team.

THE ROLE

  • Production and analysis of necessary reports e.g. daily/ weekly sales, web analytics, stock availability, including providing observations/ context to sales, user behaviour and trading patterns.
  • Produce weekly sample analysis and coordinate sample follow-up emails and activities so as to optimise sample conversion.
  • Produce weekly stock analysis and coordinate the web stock meeting and follow-up activities to ensure a strong stock position is maintained across the season to achieve budget.
  • Visual merchandising of listings pages and other production tasks to support online trading to drive full price mix and product conversions.
  • Develop homepage/ category and email briefs to the design and development teams, ensuring that the workflow is maintained.
  • Ensure all new product and site updates are completed as per the briefs and uploaded and fully tested on time and in line with the 12-week planner.
  • Undertake daily site walks to ensure the website is perfect.
  • Undertake regular competitor analysis identifying opportunities that may help improve the customer proposition of the website
  • Day-to-day management of the JIRA board.
  • User web testing of bug fixes and new functionality so as to continually improve the customer journey, website usability and overall site/ brand proposition.
  • Work closely with our social agency on paid for social advertising across Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest, coordinating assets, copy and optimisation.
  • Champion a best in class digital luxury experience and any other duties as required by ecommerce management/ founders.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 1-2 year's Ecommerce Trading and/or Digital experience.
  • Ecommerce platform experience is essential - Magento experience is preferable.
  • Knowledge of online merchandising practices for accurate stock and sales analysis.
  • Analytical skills for accurate reporting.
  • Proficient in excel and ecommerce analytics packages, e.g. Google Analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to work confidently with internal and external teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail - someone who takes care to ensure accuracy down to the smallest detail.
  • Passionate about ecommerce.
  • Analytical with a commercial outlook and creative appreciation.

THE ROLE

  • Ensure relevant and appropriate editorial coverage is achieved as per the agreed strategy, including pitching news stories, announcement and product placements, event press.
  • Managing press lists and distribution of press releases/photography.
  • Handle press inquiries quickly and effectively with the support of an intern. Meet with media to develop and nurture relationships.
  • Monitor, distribute and archive editorial coverage. Liaise with international partners and also internally on a regular basis regarding general company activity and initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of creative routes to maximize press coverage and product.
  • Support Creative Director with event concept and shoot concepts for seasonal campaigns.
  • Manage and co-ordinate all events for the business including press days, launches and events at the flagship store.
  • In charge of branded event guidelines and communicate these with international partners.
  • Manage special projects such as brand/designer collaborations.
  • Liaise with internal teams for all collateral; PR, Marketing, Social Media and Visual Merchandising on the development and execution of larger brand collaborations and to ensure seamless event schedule, execution and coverage from project brief to in store.
  • Research on trends in regards life style/events and collaborations in the fashion industry

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • PR Assistant with solid working experience in public relations and special projects, ideally within the luxury interiors, lifestyle and fashion sphere.
  • Minimum of 2 years in-house or agency experience.
  • Experience with influencers and social media.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

We offer in-house training and a young and dynamic office environment based in Shoreditch. This position actively assists the production and buying team in the execution of the supply chain strategy and coordination of the department. The candidate should have excellent organisational and analytical skills with the ability to work independently. They should have an abundance of interiors knowledge and a desire to learn. They will work closely with the Production coordinator and manager to administer the orders, handle delivery schedules and negotiate dates, manage the sampling process and samples and assist in product photo shoots. A good knowledge of Excel is required.
