Our Pledge To The Planet

With Mother Nature as our design muse we have a duty of care towards her which we take very seriously.

Year on year we set ourselves higher targets as our level of awareness rises. We are learning on the job. Where we used to plant trees we learnt that protecting ancient woodland is even more important to our ecosystems.
Last year with your help, we protected 170 acres of sacred woodland thanks to our partnership with the Woodland Trust, and we proudly became a certified carbon neutral company.

The most important part of our role as founders is to safeguard the brand’s foundations and ensure we evaluate how we continue to do better. This is a work in progress; as we become more aware, we need more innovative solutions.
We are dedicated to this mission.
We are excited by the future and the quest to find pioneering solutions where they don’t already exist. We believe in nature’s symbiosis and that everyone can do well together.
We believe in knowledge sharing and collaboration at grass roots level. We believe that business can be a force for good.

We look forward to a future of positive change.

Our 2023

Eco Manifesto

This year, we pledge to…

We pledge to create a legally binding contract that assures that we, as their guardians, ensure the hidden voices of nature and future generations continue to be safeguarded in all company decisions.

We pledge to donate 1% of all sales to environmental and community charities doing important work for people and planet.

Tread Softly

By better understanding our ecological footprint, we can work better to reduce it. In 2023 we will map the water and waste footprint in our supply chain, from farms and suppliers to factories and couriers, and work together to set targets and decrease it.

Last year we achieved official Carbon Neutral status. This year we will work towards becoming a climate positive business, which goes beyond achieving net-zero carbon emissions to create an environmental benefit by removing more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than we emit. We will do this by continuing to use green delivery methods and our partnerships with the World Land Trust and the Pacajai REDD+ Project in Brazil, who work to avoid unplanned deforestation in native forests.

We want to define a new blueprint for business; one that works in harmony with nature. We will move from a sustainable business to a more regenerative one - as well as protecting our planet, we want to help heal it, leaving it better for the next generation.

Make Responsibly & With Purpose

In 2021, we introduced what we are proud to say is amongst the most environmentally friendly wallpaper in the world. We want to continue to champion organic, regenerative and recycled materials, like our FSC® certified wood and wood-pulp based materials and 100% traceable wool from Woolkeepers. We aim for at least 80% of all materials to come from ‘more responsible’ sources, to encourage our factories to become more sustainable and to support the communities along our supply chain.

We will deepen our raw material traceability work by breaking everything we purchase into components, collecting information from our carefully selected suppliers on where it comes from and who supplies it. We will use this collection of information to identify areas of improvement or change.

We have been proudly partnered with the Word Land Trust for many years, and now we want to add to our alliances to protect the world’s precious forests by committing to Canopy’s Pack4good pledge, supporting their mission to ensure wood pulp from ancient and endangered forests is not used in packaging globally. We understand the value of trees and their influence on our collective quality of life and prosperity. We want to reduce our reliance on them as a raw material so we will also begin researching innovative alternatives to wood based fibres.

Be Accountable

We wholeheartedly support Business for Nature’s call to action ‘Nature is Everyone's Business’. We have joined the list of signatories calling on governments to make it mandatory for businesses to assess and disclose their impact and dependencies on nature. We will lead the charge by championing transparency and being accountable in our sustainability journey.

It starts here.

We are publishing our Impact Report. This shows our impact on the natural world, and the steps we are taking to protect it for the future.
